6 Ways to Style White Jeans

Turns out despite the controversial press (men of Love Island we blame you), the humble white jean has more to offer than you might first realise. This week the team are sharing their white denim styling picks, from dressed down to dinner date ready, keep reading to get inspired.

Is it really summer if you’re not nervously watching the precarious looking onions oozing out of your burger at the family BBQ whilst wearing your fresh out of the wash white jeans? We didn’t think so. Whilst the wrong cut of white denim might give off evil step mum waiting to steal your inheritance vibes, finding the perfect pair can further your outfit options endlessly and offer a fresh and bright alternative to pair with your ‘jeans and a nice top’ tops.

And despite popular belief, white jeans are the perfect August purchase, helping you transition your wardrobe into September and the promise of crunchy leaves to come as they look perfect paired with a burnt orange roll neck and pair of kick ass ankle boots too. Turns out despite the controversial press (men of Love Island we blame you), the humble white jean has more to offer than you might first realise.

I love a white jean in the warmer months and the fit I’ll usually go for is straight leg or mom style! I loved the idea of wearing these with a fun colourful shirt tucked in and spotted this one from Sandro which I now can’t stop thinking about. There was also a great alternative from Mango which I liked too. I’d probably pair this outfit with some simple leather sliders and a little leather shoulder bag.

I think when I wear white skinny/slim jeans I look quite dowdy and old, so I prefer to go for something that leans a bit more cream and keep the cut wider. I love this pair from Object and the hem keeps them looking a bit edgy and raw. Would pair with some black heels and this fun black and white tie-dye wrap top as well as a pop of colour handbag and these Fendi earrings I keep seeing everywhere!

If nothing else in this world, we women will always have the upper hand when it comes to White. Fucking. Jeans. Cue the Love Island memes. Due to the no-show summer we’re having, I’m taking no chances and styling them with a quilted jacket, plain tee, trainers and a rented Loewe puzzle from Cocoon Club.

I’ve gone for a pair of oversized white mom jeans paired with a baggy t-shirt from Collusion (the best place for oversized anything) and some Comme Des Garcons Converse. I feel like this look is just something that always works, accessorised with a cool mesh pink bag from Weekday and some gold jewellery.

I’m not going to lie I don’t think I ever worn a white jean- how is this possible?! I think the whole Love Island stereotype has sworn me off them, however I am aware I’m not a cringe and slightly problematic man so hopefully I can wear the jeans without affiliation to them haha. I hear such great things about Weekday jeans and I’m itching to order some so these seem like the perfect place to start. I’m v into colour blocking, and green isn’t something I wear a lot of but think it really pops against blonde hair so I’m feeling this ‘fit!

*Weekday, Voyage High Straight Jeans, £30 | *ASOS, ASOS DESIGN cardigan with button sleeve detail in green, £28 | Zara, BLOCK HEEL SANDALS, £27.99 | *New Look, Little Mistress Silver Diamanté Knot Shoulder Bag, £29.99

White jeans give me ‘I’m a cool mom’ vibe so I’ve never dared to try them out. I do like how they look I am just the messiest, clumsiest person in the world. If I were ever to brave it, I’d get high waisted wide legs and pair them with a camel coloured top with matching sandals. Now that I’ve planned this out, I kind of love it and think I’ve convinced myself to try out white jeans, I’ll report back.
